Ophiopogon 'Kokuryu' (translated to Black Dragon) is the true name of this wonderful groundcover (Thanks to Larry Hatch and Barry Yinger for confirming this)

but this rare form has been fine in our Zone 7b/8a woodland garden since 2003

so avoid excessively dry sites

Iris unguicularis prefers a dry and well-drained location

the clumps are topped with 6" spikes of tiny white buds that open as grey-green flowers

Trillium simile Helleborus Ophiopogon 'Kokuryu' (translated to BlackTrillium simile is a little known trillium from the Blue Ridge Mountain region where North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia meet. Trillium simile was named for its resemblance to the nearby Trillium vaseyi. The large, outfacing, deliciously fragrant, creamy white flowers with a contrasting black ovary top the green foliage in mid spring. Our offerings are 7 to 8 year old flowering plants, nursery propagated from seed from Blount County, Tennessee.
