This piece, first designed in 1908 by Caille Brothers Co., was once part of a carnival arcade personality tester. The coin op machine "judged" your personality based on a handshake with Uncle Sam. The hand has been replaced here with a closed fist around a gun, not nearly as welcoming as the handshake. The personality meter was removed at some point in time
