Constructed of gilded tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, overlaid by a central U Boat set over a hollow void, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 48. 88 mm (w) x 39. 67 mm (h), weighing 22. 0 grams, in extremely fine
