Sarracenia flava produces most of its nicest 2" wide pitchers during the spring season

although it will grow fine in less than ideal conditions

the clump is topped by spikes of bright orange-red flowers (RHS 43A)

This easy to grow hosta makes a wonderful specimen with dark green, heart shaped leaves, surrounded by an extremely wide, creamy edge that emerges gold in early spring. In late summer, the 40" wide clump is topped with 26" stems with dark lavender and white striped, bell like flowers!
