For two years, the head office of MPE ENGENHARIA S/A has had collection points for the Rio Eco Pets project, an NGO that collects plastic caps for recycling. The material collected is sold and the proceeds are donated to owners of abandoned animals. Each tutor or shelter receives 350.00 reais which, according to the rules of participation, must be converted into medical care for the animals, including castration. The work of collection, sorting, storage and sale is carried out by the more than 500 volunteers of the project, who, joining forces, make a difference in the lives of these dogs and cats! In 4 years, the NGO recycled more than 296 tons of material and benefited more than 3,000 animals, protecting the environment and contributing to the animal cause! The project is present in 33 cities in the state of Rio de Janeiro, being present in petshops, schools, stores, newsstands and shopping centers. Recently, Rio Eco Pets was recognized by the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, which tends to expand its scope. MPE ENGENHARIA S/A supports local initiatives because it believes that small actions can transform the world!
