The Solidarity Christmas Campaign is held annually, as in previous years, the beneficiary institution was the “Casa de Acolhida Frei Carmelo Cox”, located near the headquarters of MPE ENGENHARIA S/A, in the neighborhood of Vila Isabel, Rio de Janeiro. The institution is maintained by Associação Beneficente AMAR and welcomes children in situations of social vulnerability. The children are received at the institution after a court decision, remaining in the entity for a determined period, until they can return to their families or are welcomed through adoption. All the boys study in public schools and in the shelter they have access to educational activities and social interaction that contribute to their development as citizens and pedagogical training. The Solidarity Christmas Campaign, which aims to collect food and cleaning material for the Casa de Acolhida, encourage the participation of employees in local social initiatives and publicize the work of these institutions. In 2021, more than 300 kg of donations were collected, in addition, the boys were presented with a personalized shirt from their favorite team and a basket of snacks. The delivery of gifts and donations was carried out at the institution itself and the employees of MPE ENGENHARIA volunteers were able to interact, talk and play with the boys. Undoubtedly, this was an unforgettable exchange of experiences for everyone.
